Collection: WeStYarn Bioluxe Sock

A supersoft 3ply fine fingering yarn with superwash Merino (85%) from mulesing-free farms and biodegradable nylon (15%). Hand dyed in the Netherlands with professional dyes. Fine Fingering/Sock weight 430 m / 100 gram. Gauge (stocking stitch): 28sts x 36 rows over 10cm/4 inches on 3.25mm (US 3) needles. Recommended Needle Size: 2.25 - 4mm. Although with this yarn, I knit my socks on 2 mm, but I'm a loose knitter!

Bioluxe Sock has the finest merino wool (19.5 micron) that makes this yarn luxuriously soft and bouncy for next to skin comfort. Beautiful worsted spun yarn suitable for socks, hats, cowls, shawls and garments. This yarn is so versatile and can be used for any next to skin project as well as items where a little more durability is required such as socks and gloves.

A new innovation in fibre technology, biodegradable nylon breaks down completely and produces a much lower environmental impact than regular nylon. Unlike regular nylon, that takes decades to decompose, biodegradable nylon takes only about five years to break down completely under landfill conditions. Biodegradable nylon does not decompose during standard use and is just as strong and durable as regular nylon until it is disposed of to landfill.

Dyed in an environmentally friendly manner with acid dyes, carefully washed in unscented wool wash and sent in skeins unless otherwise requested. I try to design my dye schedule in such a manner that I can re-use dye baths several times per session and lower my environmental impact.
